Netflix users outraged over new 'diabolical' update to app: 'Everyone needs to cancel'
Netflix users around the world are lashing out over a new update that many say has ruined their viewing experience. The streaming giant, which boasts over 300 million subscribers, has rolled out a redesigned user interface (UI) to deliver better recommendations and a more personalized experience. However, the update has triggered a wave of frustration, with some subscribers calling it'diabolical.' Everyone needs to cancel,' one user posted on X. Users are now presented with enlarged title cards, the rectangular graphics that preview shows and movies, which they said takes up more screen space and reduces the number of titles visible at once. The'clunky' title boxes have also taken the place of key features that users said helped them find movies and shows easily.

ChatGPT maker is set to reveal a new search product to rival Google in the next few days, report says
The creators of ChatGPT are poised to release a new search product to rival Google, according to reports. The new feature, expected to be confirmed by Microsoft-backed OpenAI on Monday, will allow users to search the web via the popular chatbot. The details of how this will function have not been revealed, but it is likely that the AI will search the web for users and generate results based on what it finds. For example, this could let users ask ChatGPT a question and receive much more detailed answers that cite web sources like Wikipedia or online blogs. If true, it could present the biggest challenge yet to Google's search engine supremacy.

Arc browser comes to the iPhone as a stripped-down, AI-powered search tool
Arc, a browser initially built just for the Mac, has been expanding lately. The Browser Company announced a beta of its Windows version last month, and today they're bringing the Arc experience to the iPhone with Arc Search. As the name implies, the new app is focused on searching -- when you open the app, you're met with a keyboard and search field, not your usual collection of tabs. And rather than just serving up simple search results from Google or your engine of choice, Arc scans the internet for various sources and creates a "page for me" that pulls together a bunch of info on your desired query. For example, I just searched for "What happened in the Detroit Lions game?" and was met with details about a controversial two-point conversion that was overturned and how it ultimately affected the game's outcome, which was a three-point Lions loss.

Google's AI-powered search tool can help tackle your holiday shopping
Google is scaling up Search Generative Experience (SGE) for holiday shopping. The company announced Thursday that its AI-powered search bot can now spit out gift ideas, photorealistic images of product types and virtual try-ons of men's tops. Google SGE launched in May, offering AI-driven answers and suggestions to complement the search engine's standard web results. The company has since added follow-up queries, better translations and interactive definitions in more complex subjects. The tool requires Chrome on desktop or the Google mobile app on smartphones.
